INTRODUCTION, THERAPIES AND RECENT EXPERIMENTAL APPROACHES IN CANCER

Abstract

Cancer is the uncontrolled growth of cells. Which is classified as sarcoma, carcinoma, lymphoma, leukemia, blastoma, germ cell tumour etc? Cancer is responsible for about 25% of all deaths in the U.S. some important symptoms of cancer are fever, fatigue, weight loss, unusual bleeding, lump masses etc. and cancer has risk factor like drinking, smoking, viruses, radiation, obesity, genetics etc. Mutation plays important role in development of cancer. In chemotherapy alkylating agents, antimetabolites, plant alkaloids, cytotoxic antibiotics, phodophylotoxin etc. are used for treatment. Some newer approaches like nanoparticle, electrochemotherapy, harmone therapy, gene therapy and immunotherapy are beneficial in cancer treatment.
