ANTI-INFLAMMATORY EFFECT OF HYDROALCOHOLIC EXTRACT OF FRUIT OF FICUS CARICA
Successive hydroalcoholic extract of fruit of Ficus carica were subjected to evaluate anti-inflammatory activities in albino Wistar rat. In cotton wool granuloma technique, the hydroalcoholic extract of Ficus carica to animal of 250 gm when given orally inhibited the inflammatory effect on both the phases of inflammation and effect was found to be dose related. Hydroalcoholic extract of fruit of Ficus carica responsible in changing various biochemical parameters such as serum SGOT, SGPT, ALP and total protein which was not that much significant. In haematological parameters, the hydroalcoholic extract of fruit of Ficus carica showed significant decreased in WBCs count. In case of haemoglobin content no significant change was observed. All doses of hydroalcoholic extract of Ficus carica did not show any significant change in RBCs and ESR count.
